Professional history:

Residential appraiser since 2002.  Real estate agent 1999-2021.

Work includes mortgage related reports for the top lenders in the state, portfolios for local college and non-profits, complex assignments such as the Gertrude Zachary Castle, review work for lenders, public, and NM Real Estate Appraisers Board.  Served as expert witness, consultant, and/or designated commissioner pursuant to NMSA §42-5-7.  Supervised and trained some of the top appraisers in Albuquerque.

Construction manager prior to appraising, with project highlights including a multi-million-dollar addition and renovation to Christ in the Desert Monastery, Abiquiu, NM, and first multi-million-dollar straw bale home in Palo Alto, CA.

SRA designation in 2009.  Board of Directors for the Rio Grande Chapter of the Appraisal Institute 2012-2015.  Vice President Rio Grande Chapter of the Appraisal Institute 2024.

SRA Designation

The SRA designation is considered by many to be the most prestigious designation for residential appraisers. It signifies a commitment to the loftiest ideals of the appraisal profession and is recognized by mortgage lenders, courts, investors and government agencies as a mark of excellence.

The SRA designation denotes an appraiser who has been able to demonstrate knowledge obtained through rigorous education and experience criteria and who is committed to expanding that knowledge through continuing education.

The current requirements for the SRA designation per the Appraisal Institute web site 11/16/09 are

  • Pass rigorous education requirements
  • Submit residential experience which must meet strict criteria
  • Receive credit for a demonstration appraisal report
  • Conduct his or her professional activities in accordance with the

Appraisal Institute’s Code of Professional Ethics and are subject to a peer review process, which enforces the Code of Professional Ethics

  • Appraisal Institute SRA members are required to adhere to strict continuing education requirements to ensure they are up-to-date with the evolving real estate field.
